SUSTAINABILITY

Cardon Resort has been working
side by side with Campo Tortuguero,
a program by Mexican government
to protect baby sea turtles from predation

For a few years now, Cardon Resort has been collaborating with Campo Tortuguero to help protect turtle hatchlings from predation. Several times a year, members of this program come to Cardon Resort to release hatchlings into the ocean. Our guests are often able to watch the freeing and always express their excitement about being a part of the experience. Sometimes through donations, some others by offering the staff a simple ride to the beach— given the fact that Campo Tortuguero’s resources are usually very limited — every helping hand is always welcome.

THE BUILDING

Cardon Adventure Resort
has become an example
of sustainability in the region

The hotel’s infrastructure, its food sourcing and our waste
management program speak for our efforts to offer a high quality
service while preserving our most valuable natural
resources. Our facilities are durable and functional without
sacrificing comfort and beauty. Most of the building materials
were sourced from a provider within a 400-mile ratio, which
significantly reduced the entire project’s carbon footprint.

The use of local supplies and craftsmanship is evident in the
pebble-stone-encrusted floors, rooms and showers. The stones
were selected form rocks washed ashore at surrounding rivers,
and so they give the resort a distinctively warm and inviting
feel, while adding an interesting textural and a visual accent
that makes the overall design blend in with the environment.
This is why we are your proudest hosts!
